I think that its god that he talks about this, and belays the "perfect person/family/child" thing that a lot of celebs go for - presenting picture perfect kids for the paps, or hiding disabilities.
Kudos to Colin for talking openly about his son; yes, maybe he would have preferred to not have a dormant 15th cromosone (or whatever), but it's obviously been a learning curve for him; and sometimes people come up shining from those!
Good for him & his girlfriend for working out the child care too.
