Thanks for the suggestions everyone! The ones I'm thinking of definitely had coconut, but were otherwise just basic choc chip cookies. So I made a batch of Toll Houses tonight, substituting coconut for the nuts (I only used about 1/2 C of coconut compared to 1 C of nuts). Worked pretty perfectly, so I'm happified.
