that article is a hoot...mostly because the writer has no clue about Ireland..typical

First of all, using the word 'brogue' to describe the irish manner of speaking the english language is just insulting...'brogue' is the irish word for shoe...i don't know how it came to mean an irish accent but frankly, it is not all complimentary

Secondly...the statement about the locals not knowing who Daniel is, is ridiculous..Of course, they know who he is, we just don't fawn over everybodY, especially one of our own - he is Irish afterall (he was just born in the UK)..what the famous like about Ireland is our ability to treat you like everybody else...
